Cullottes? Yes please! They aren't just for missionaries.
Why don't people ask me for vintage photos, because I have a lot.
I'm showing an inside photo of this one (Columbia Minerva Ski Fashions) because this sweater is so wonderful and beautiful and I wish it were still winter and I could wear it. OMG! I could keep this pattern book and make it for myself. Gasp. I'm graduating and will have time to knit sweaters. Holy bajoley.
Man sweaters? Lovely.
And now the best for last. Is this not the above sweater in wonderful blanket form? I L-O-V-E this afghan. Again, I think I might keep the patterns and make it myself, but I have no need for an afghan.
Linking up with Apron Thrift Girl.
Nice finding old patterns. I did so much sewing in the 70's and 80's and now its just 'mending and shortening'. My sewing room went the way of needing a bedroom for DGS.
ReplyDeleteNo need for an afghan? Bite your tongue. Curling up to read a book, curling up to take a nap, curling up to have a good cry, curling up when you have a bad cold and nobody loves you, curling up to watch sappy movies on TV, curling up with your favorite small creature who loves your smell on the afghan . . . surely everyone needs an afghan?
ReplyDeleteAs a person who strives for simplicity, I find that the afghan collection I have is sufficient. One was made by my grandmother, and another is just beautiful and reminds me of home.
DeleteI'm sorry to have insulted afghans. I in no way intended to demean their worth and overall beauty.
Well, I wasn't offended - just worried that you did not have the kind of personal experience that inclines one's heart toward afghans. Now that I know you have several I can rest easy. Can I also confess that I think the scratchy kind that don't cuddle well are a waste of the crocheter's time/talent? Now I will offend . . . ;-)
